Good To Know
We went late afternoon on a lovely hot day and saw at least 5 gators in different places during the 30 minute ride. We also saw a raccoon, lots of different birds including a bald headed eagle and had a very enjoyable ride which blew the cobwebs away.
We had free tickets to this from the place we got our attraction tickets from and to be honest I would buy them next time, it was a real interesting trip. Its in Kissimmee so its not far to get to and doesn't take long. We had a ticket for a half hour trip out on the boat but as it was quiet we were out for a full hour. The pilot of the boat was very competent and knowledgeable in all the wildlife and he knew where to take the boat with the best chance of seeing an alligator. There was plenty of wildlife to see and the experience of the airboat ride was excellent. We even held a baby gator at he end when we were back on dry land. Worth a trip out to have an hour out on the water and wetlands.
I got a groupon for the sunset tour. The captain was knowledgeable and friendly. He kept us engaged for an hour and showed us the wildlife in the swamp. We saw a big 10-11 foot croc :-) i would definitely recommend this ride but it is a little pricey per person if traveling with a big group
It was informative and interesting. It was fun, different and not unlike nighttime safaris. The Orlando traffic was unpleasant but Boggy Creek itself was quiet and distanced from the 'maddening crowds'. The night sounds, the birds and the alligators were a different experience, and worth it.
